Below is a step-by-step guide on changing your mobile number in the Emirates ID:
1. Visit the ICA (Federal Authority For Identity And Citizenship) website at www.ica.gov.ae
2. Choose “smart services”
3. Look out for the one that says “other services – update personal information”
4. Start Service
5. It takes you to the first step page that requires you to fill a form. Here you fill in your nationality, passport number, name, ID number, date of entry and date of birth
6. When you are done providing the information for the first step, it automatically takes you to the second step
7. When you select your nationality, it brings up space to fill your “file type” (Visa or Residency) and “file number”. Choose your file type as “residence” then locate your file number on your visa page just above your passport number
8. You need to choose “3 section number” or “4 section number”. To understand what is your file number have a look to your file number on your visa page. Check whether the number is divided into 3 or 4 sections. (Usually Dubai has 3 section file, other Emirates – 4 section file number)
9. Fill other required fields, then it takes you to the mobile number data page below. Here, the mobile number on your Emirates ID is displayed
10. Then enter the new mobile number you want in the space provided. Then send an OTP number to confirm
11. Fill in your address information below and check the captcha box
12. Then it takes you to the review page. Here you review all the details you entered and edit if need be
13. You will be taken to a page to make the necessary payment. Currently, the cost of changing the mobile number on your Emirates ID is AED 53
Once you’re done with the payment process, you will receive an email message of verification along with the payment slip. Then, you wait between 2 to 7 working days to have your new number updated.
